Local SEO means helping people near you find your business when they search on Google. Think of searches like "plumber near me" or "dentist Toronto". Google shows a map and a short list of businesses first, so showing up there matters.
You do not need a big budget to start. Most of the work is getting the basics right and keeping them right. Here are five steps.
Step 1: Set Up Your Google Business Profile
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on Google Maps and in local search results. It is free, and for most small businesses it is the most important local SEO step.
- →Create or claim your profile and complete the verification Google asks for
- →Use your real business name, address and phone number, and keep them the same everywhere online
- →Choose the category that best describes your main service, then add others that fit
- →Add your opening hours and the areas you serve
- →Upload real photos of your work, your team and your location
- →Write a clear description of what you do and list your services

Step 2: Make Your Website Say What You Do and Where
Google reads your website to understand your business. Make it easy for Google and for your customers:
- →Give each main service its own page, with a clear title and heading
- →Use your city and neighbourhoods naturally in titles and text, not in long lists of place names
- →Show your name, address and phone number on every page, written the same way as on your Google profile
- →Embed a Google Map on your contact page
- →Add a contact form and a click-to-call button
Our websites are built with this in mind. Every package is search-engine friendly and includes an embedded Google Map.
Step 3: Ask for Reviews
Reviews help people choose you, and Google pays attention to them. Ask happy customers to leave a review soon after the job, and make it easy by sending a direct link. Reply to every review politely, including the bad ones. Never buy reviews or write fake ones. It breaks Google's rules and it can hurt you.
Step 4: Make Your Site Fast and Easy on a Phone
Many people search on their phones. If your page takes too long to load or is hard to tap, they will leave. Use compressed photos, keep pages simple and check your site on a real phone. Every one of our packages is mobile responsive.
Step 5: Check What Is Working
Google Analytics shows how many people visit your site and what they do there. Google Search Console shows which searches bring people to you. Google Analytics integration is included in our Business and Professional packages, and Google Search Console setup is included in the Professional package.
Mistakes to Avoid
- ✗Stuffing the same keyword into every sentence
- ✗Using different phone numbers or addresses on different websites
- ✗Buying links or reviews
- ✗Setting up your Google profile once and never updating it
- ✗Expecting results in a week
How Long Does Local SEO Take?
It depends on your business, your area and how many other businesses compete for the same searches. Results usually build over weeks and months, and no honest provider can promise a top spot.
